فقام بطرس وركض الى القبر فانحنى ونظر الاكفان موضوعة وحدها فمضى متعجبا في نفسه مما كان
الشبهة
بالرغم أنه كان يظن أن العدد الثانى عشر زيادة مأخوذه من يوحنا 20-3 , 5 , 6, 10 , فإن غالبية أعضاء اللجنه اعتبروا الفقره تسبق العدد 24 بصورة طبيعيه , و فسروا التشابه بين الأعداد فى يوحنا الى تشابه التقليد الذى استقى منه الإنجيليين معلوماتهم .

(ASV) But Peter arose, and ran unto the tomb; and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths by themselves; and he departed to his home, wondering at that which was come to pass.
(BBE) But Peter got up and went to the place where the body had been put, and looking in he saw nothing but the linen cloths, and he went to his house full of wonder at what had taken place.
(Bishops) Then arose Peter, and ran vnto the sepulchre, and loked in, and sawe the linnen clothes layde by them selues, and departed, wondryng in him selfe at that which was come to passe.
